Balon Mundial uses football as a medium to actively support migrants in the leadership building process to become responsible communities leaders.
Besides the annual tournament, during the year Balon Mundial works with refugee teams and helps networking. These on-going projects are focused on linking football team activities to the community building process. Balon Mundial aims empowering both established leaders and young leaders in the sensitive work of answering to the community desires/needs/aspirations while creating relationships with local institutions in order to propose sport activities.
In 2016 Balon Mundial celebrated the 10° edition of its world cup: it involved 11 female teams and 38 male teams, the players coming from more the 35 different countries.
Thanks to the inclusive power of football, Balon Mundial promotes the active participation of women and migrants in society. Moreover, in the last10 years Balon Mundial developed other different projects such as Cricket Mundial, aimed to involve asian communities, and Food Mundial using food as common language. We also developed Centro Studi, a project aiming to study how football changes society.
